Please note this is a 10 week course, with a one-week half term.
Tap is the original jazz dance and anyone, at any age, can start tapping. We are extremely fortunate to be able to offer the privilege of dancing each class to live piano music, providing the opportunity to develop a high degree of artistry, musicality, grace and power and supporting the creation of choreography. Tap or hard-sole shoes are required.
Beginner: A perfect class for anybody completely new to this genre. We will cover all of the fundamentals of tap, including shuffles and pick-ups, and put together a simple, fun routine each term. This class allows for plenty of repetition.
Zoé trained at London Studio Centre and, since graduating with a BA (Hons) in Theatre Dance, her career has taken her all over the world, working for Princess Cruises, Costa Cruises and Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi.
Tap has played a huge part in Zoé’s life, from being selected as a Young Tap Dancer of the Year finalist to becoming Dance Captain of the England Tap Team, winning silver at the World Tap Championships in Germany. Also part of the renowned Tap Attack company, Zoé competed in the live semi-finals of Sky One’s Got to Dance and performed in Tap United in Boston, USA. Zoé is a qualified ISTD dance teacher, specialising in tap.
Theatre credits include: Thoroughly Modern Millie, Singin’ In The Rain (both Adelphi, London), A Christmas Carol (Lichfield Garrick), and Peter Pan (Queen’s Theatre, Barnstaple), as well as being Dance Captain on Aladdin (Theatre Royal Windsor), Fastlove (UK Tour) and the Lego Friends show at Legoland! She even played Stephanie in their TV advert. Other fun jobs include the opening ceremony for the Champions League Final, The Midnight Beast’s Valentine for Sky Arts and working in Lapland, Finland!
Zoé works closely with Strictly Come Dancing’s Ian Waite, presenting for FitSteps on Demand, as well as teaching a huge variety of dance classes, locally. She loves seeing the progression in her adult tappers and our classes are very fun, friendly and relaxed – so come give it a go!
