Trustees

South Hill Park Trust is seeking new Trustees to join its Board of Trustees.

We are looking for Trustees to support the next phase of work and development following a period of strengthening governance and leadership, bringing policies and processes up-to-date, ensuring robust auditing and compliance, and creating a new vision and mission for the Trust.

We are particularly looking for Trustees who bring expertise in the areas of:

  • Fundraising
  • Arts Education
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Arts production
  • Public relations
  • IT/digital infrastructure
  • Accessibility

Finance Officer

South Hill Park is seeking a new Finance Officer to make a pro-active contribution to the day to day management of the financial needs of South Hill Park, including managing the sales ledger and monthly payroll, whilst keeping abreast of the department’s overall aims, duties and procedures to ensure an efficient operation.

As a member of the finance team, the role will involve being responsible for the secure and productive movement of money through the organisation and the day to day operation, accuracy and integrity of the financial accounts and accounting systems. The Finance Officer is primarily responsible for: payroll; sales invoices; credit control; and cash and credit card analysis and posting.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the sales ledger and ensure all related transactions are processed appropriately;
  • Manage the monthly payroll including time sheet processing and BACS payroll production;
  • Keep up to date with legislation which affects payroll, including pension contributions;
  • Post daily sales and cash to the finance system and create and post monthly cashbooks;
  • Process the intercompany account between South Hill Park Trust and Haversham Trading Company (a subsidiary of the Trust);
  • Analyse and post credit card payments;
  • Carry out the monthly credit control checks and provide debtors analysis;
  • Manage customer and colleague queries;
  • Assist with the annual audit and preparation of accounts;
  • Provide appropriate levels of cover for the Senior Finance Officer and other Finance Officer as required.

Salary £15,714 per annum (full-time equivalent, £22,000, based on 35hrs per wk) with normal working hours of 25 hours per week plus unpaid lunch breaks. Some additional hours may be required for which time off in lieu will be given. Holiday consists of 29 days paid annual leave, including Public and Bank Holidays (pro rata). Eligible for enrolment into South Hill Park’s workplace pension scheme.

Senior House Manager

South Hill Park is seeking a new Senior House Manager to manage the day to day running of the Arts Centre and Theatre, ensuring high levels of customer service; health and safety; security and cleanliness.

As a member of the operations team, the role will include the day to day running of the facilities at South Hill Park, including; venue/room set up; customer care; health and safety; security; performance duty management; cleaning and the customer experience. The team consists of: Director of Operations; Senior House Manager; House Managers; Maintenance Co-ordinator; Janitors; Cleaners and the Front of House Volunteers. Although the catering at South Hill Park is managed by a third party caterer, the team provides support to the caterer to ensure a safe and efficient, commercially thriving catering and events offer, from the Atrium Restaurant and Bar to weddings and Wilde Theatre food, drink and merchandise sales.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To implement the day to day smooth running of the centre’s operations and activities;
  • To implement high levels of front of house customer service and security;
  • To be the key point of contact and a source of information and assistance for visiting companies, customers, staff and contractors;
  • To ensure high levels of health and safety, wellbeing and comfort of all staff and users;
  • To deputise for the Director of Operations as required;
  • To line manage and supervise the front of house volunteers and provide full training.

Salary £22,000 – £24,000 per annum based on a 40 hour week (including paid lunch breaks). Operates on a 4 weekly rota consisting of daytime, evening, weekend and Public/Bank Holiday shifts as required. 29 days paid annual leave, including Public and Bank Holidays.

Technical Manager

South Hill Park is seeking a new full-time Technical Manager to provide mid-management technical and production support for South Hill Park Arts Centre, both on and off site for visiting companies, artists and in-house productions.

This role will support the Head of Technical and Production to deliver all technical requirements and technical facilities management for South Hill Park Arts Centre, both on and off site.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Enable the best presentation of performances and events including outdoor events at South Hill Park Arts Centre through the provision of technical services;
  • Maintain South Hill Park’s technical equipment and stage-houses and technical control rooms for the presentation spaces;
  • Ensure the best planning of events and management of productions by working closely with the Head of Technical and Production and incoming companies/clients;
  • Deputise for the Head of Technical and Production as required;
  • Contribute to the technical workload of the Arts Centre.

Salary £22,000 – £24,000 per annum (depending on experience) with normal working hours of 35 hours per week plus lunch breaks. Some evening and weekend work may be required for which time off in lieu will be given. Holiday consists of 29 days paid annual leave, including Public and Bank Holidays. Eligible for enrolment into South Hill Park’s workplace pension scheme.
