You can book through the South Hill Park box office, southhillpark.org.uk or by calling 01344 484123. Please note there is a £5 administration fee for each child auditioning, and this must be paid before the audition day. This fee can be paid at the time of booking. You will also need to fill out an audition registration form which will be emailed to you along with a FAQ sheet once you have booked an audition time.

Please make sure that you attach a passport-sized photo with the form – this is to help us remember you after the audition.

Parents/guardians and family/friends will not be able to watch the auditions.

WHAT?
1) What time do I need to arrive?
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your audition time. This will give us enough time to register your arrival and make sure you have filled in the registration form.

2) What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring along a printed passport photo/photo of yourself. This helps us when we are selecting the ensemble once you’ve left the room. You will need comfortable clothes and shoes. Dance shoes are perfect if you have them. If you are cast, you will be expected to purchase a pair of jazz shoes before the rehearsal process starts. Make sure you wear clothes that are suitable for dancing and physical movement.
Bring a bottle of water and a small snack. The auditions are very energetic and you will get hot and thirsty.

3) What will I do during the auditions?
Please prepare a short monologue, speech or poem to perform as part of the audition. It should be around 30 seconds long. The director would also like you to come with three jokes to tell the audition panel.
You will also be taught a short piece of dance by the choreographer, Charlotte and will have an opportunity to sing a song with the musical director, Tim.

Rehearsals and performances:
Joining the pantomime cast is a big commitment and should be considered carefully before registering to audition. The rehearsals will take place every Sunday from September. Each member of the junior ensemble will be required to attend both technical rehearsals and one dress rehearsal on either 23, 24 or 25 November (evening) and commit to approximately 21 performances between 26 November 2021 and 3 January 2022 (morning, afternoon and evening performances Monday to Sunday).
