Victoria Spearing, Set Designer for South Hill Park Arts Centre’s in-house productions won a prestigious award on Sun 28 Apr for Best Staging /Set at the Great British Pantomime Awards. South Hill Park’s pantomime Dick Whittington And His Cat (2018) was nominated for two awards including Best Script (written by Joyce Branagh) and Best Staging/Set. Her set design for Dick Whittington And His Cat was highly regarded and admired by audiences throughout the pantomime season 2018 in which she created a stunning story book set complete with opening pages for new scenes.
Victoria says:
“I’m delighted to receive this award. It’s so lovely to receive something like this after many years creating sets for South Hill Park’s pantomimes and productions. I want to acknowledge the wonderful team who helped me bring my set design to the stage and this award is also a credit to them.’ She added ‘Of course this means I’ve got to design something even bigger and better for this year’s pantomime Aladdin!”
