Local Leaders Support South Hill Park’s Youth Programmes at Town Mayor’s Charity Dinner

March 20, 2019

Fri 1 March saw the very first community event take place in South Hill Park’s newly refurbished Coach House. The Bracknell Town Mayor’s Charity Black Tie Dinner in aid of South Hill Park’s youth learning and participation programmes, was a huge success raising a record amount of money for this worthy cause.

Bracknell Town Mayor, Cllr Sandra Ingham:

“I am delighted this Charity Dinner has raised more than £5000 for the direct benefit of South Hill Park’s youth programme. This success would not have been possible without the support of a lot of good local people. It is important to support our local young people. South Hill Park’s inclusive youth programme builds the resilience, self-confidence and social skills of young people with an interest in the Arts and this in turn benefits our local community.”

Hosted by Bracknell Town Mayor Cllr Sandra Ingham, the Mayor’s Charity Dinner was also supported by HM The Queen’s representative, The Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire, Patron of Berkshire Youth. and 110 local VIP leaders. Local business leaders attended from companies including Boehringer-Ingelheim, Redwood Technologies and Francis Construction. Bracknell Forest Mayor Cllr Alvin Finch was also present as was Bracknell Town Football Club, Bracknell Nepalese Society, Pilgrim Hearts and representatives from local educational establishments.

At the start of the evening guests were serenaded by The Barberettes, Berkshire’s leading a cappella harmony singers. After dinner the young South Hill Park production cast of Disney’s High School Musical entertained with performances of songs from their forthcoming production.

Mark Hooper, South Hill Park Arts Centre’s, Associate Director, Youth Learning and Participation Programmes says:

“I have seen the positive and in some cases life-changing impact participation in the arts can have on young people. We run a variety of targeted and open-access projects here at South Hill Park; made possible by such charitable fundraising. We are delighted our Bracknell Town Mayor Cllr Sandra Ingham has selected Youth at South Hill Park as her charity of the year. She has been relentless during her year in office in raising the profile of youth participation at South Hill Park. This is an important relationship which will help ensure the Youth Programme at South Hill Park Arts Centre can continue to flourish,”

South Hill Park’s Coach House is an important venue which is now open for bookings including corporate events and weddings. For bookings and information please email hospitality@nullsouthhillpark.org.uk.
