Audition Call for The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

South Hill Park is looking for community actors to take part in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe this summer.

The performance is being directed by Joe Malyan (Peter Pan 2016 and Macbeth 2017) and will be performed in The Wilde Theatre and the South Hill Park Grounds.

Performances will run from Friday 18 August through until Sunday 27 August.

This is a family production aimed at children aged 8+. The set will be design by Victoria Spearing and the costumes by Anne Thomson.

Character Breakdown:

• Lucy Pevensie: Female actress aged between 14-24. Principal role.
• Peter Pevensie: Male actor aged between 16-25. Principal role.
• Edmund Pevensie: Male actor aged between 14-24. Principal role.
• Susan Pevensie: Female actress aged between 16-25. Principal role.
• The Professor/Father Christmas: Male actor aged between 40-60. Supporting role.
• Mrs Macready/The White Witch: Female actress aged between 30-45. Principal role.
• Aslan: Male actor aged between 30-50. Supporting role.
• Maugrim: Male actor aged between 18-30. Supporting role.
• Mr Tumnus: Male actor aged between 18-35. Supporting role.
• Mrs Beaver: Female actress aged between 30-45. Supporting role.
• Mr Beaver: Male actor aged between 30-45. Supporting role.
• Ensemble: Various roles both male and female actors.

Rehearsals will take place on Tuesday evenings and Sunday daytimes starting at the end of May and running through until production week.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE SOME MATINEE WEEKDAY PERFORMANCES SO PLEASE DO NOT AUDITION IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO COMMIT TO THESE TIMES/DAYS.

Auditions are by appointment, each lasting 15 minutes. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your allocated audition time, which will be given to you once you have emailed the contact below, along with a copy of the script extracts you need to prepare for the audition. Please also prepare a suitable monologue lasting 2-3 minutes.

Audition Date – Saturday 22nd April and Saturday 29th April – South Hill Park from 10am-6pm

Rehearsals – 213rd May – 13th August 2017

Production Week – Monday 14th – Thursday 17th August

PLEASE DO NOT AUDITION IF YOU CANNOT COMMIT TO THE ENTIRE REHEARSAL AND PRODUCTION PERIOD. CANDIDATES WHO AUDITION WHO CAN THEN NOT MAKE ALL DATES MAY NOT BE CONSIDERED.
