Bracknell Forest Council Heritage Parks Manager, Kath Moss, is delighted to announce that South Hill Park’s grounds have been awarded a Gold Award, along with a Certificate of Distinction in the Parks and Open Spaces category of the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), Thames and Chilterns 2016 in Bloom competition.
In July, Thames and Chilterns in Bloom judges, Kate Dagnall and Pete Thompson, visited the grounds at South Hill Park and were pleased to see how well they had developed since the completion of the restoration works funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Big Lottery Fund. They were extremely impressed with the seamless inter-authority working between Bracknell Forest Council and Bracknell Town Council, which has resulted in the park being a stunning, clean, green space for everyone to enjoy.
A huge thank you goes out to Kath and her team, to the wonderful Gardening Group volunteers who came and helped in the grounds every Wednesday morning, and to the many South Hill Park members of staff who helped in achieving these awards.
