Introduction to Creative Writing

Why do we tell stories and how do they shape the way we see the world and each other? In this welcoming introductory workshop, writer Lynn Hamilton will guide you through the fundamentals of creative storytelling, exploring where ideas come from, what makes a story compelling, and how to bring your own stories to life.

We’ll look at the different types of stories we recognise and love, explore what draws us to them, and learn how to build our own using key elements like setting, character, idea, and event. Through short exercises and discussion, you’ll begin to unlock your creativity and find inspiration in the everyday.
