Temporary Scenic Carpenters (freelance – August 2021)

Each year South Hill Park builds its own set for the Christmas pantomime, designed by award winning set designer Victoria Spearing (WINNER – Best Set at the Great British Pantomime Awards 2019). The build is led by the resident Head Scenic Carpenter and supported by South Hill Park’s technical team. Whilst experience in building sets for theatre productions would be an advantage, strong carpentry skills and ideally owning your own tools is more important. The build begins on 2 August in the Wilde Theatre at South Hill Park. We are looking for at least two carpenters who can commit to at least one full week in August – preferably longer.

House Manager (part-time and casual)

The House Manager, working with the operations team, is responsible for the day to day running of the facilities at South Hill Park, including; venue/room set up; health and safety; security; performance duty management; buildings maintenance; cleaning and the customer experience. The house management team works closely with a third party catering company offering appropriate levels of support and advice to ensure an efficient and commercially thriving catering and events offer, from the Atrium Restaurant and Bar to wedding receptions and Wilde Theatre food, drink and merchandise sales.

Kickstart Scheme

South Hill Park is taking part in Kickstart – a UK-wide scheme created by the Department of Work and Pensions and Job Centre Plus. It is designed to support young people in order to help them gain employment skills and experience over a six month job placement, working 4 days a week. All roles are paid.

The roles available at South Hill Park are:

• Admin Assistant (Operations & Community Engagement)
• Admin Assistant (Sales & Marketing)
• Technical Assistant

To be eligible to apply you must be:

  • 16-24 years old
  • Receiving universal credit and not currently employed
