Press & Marketing Officer

Full Time, 37.5 hours a week

£19,000 per annum

We are seeking a Press and Marketing Officer to take the lead on marketing the extensive programme of shows and events at South Hill Park Arts Centre.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, Communications and Sales you will assist in devising and delivering effective publicity campaigns for events across a range of art forms, including our critically acclaimed Pantomime, at least three in-house drama productions a year and a busy programme of touring productions.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a busy marketing and/or media environment and have a good eye for detail. You will be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and work under your own initiative. Previous experience of working in an Arts environment is preferable but not essential for the right candidate.

This role has specific responsibility for organising and preparing material for press including drafting press releases and briefings, handling press enquiries, organising Invitation Only events and managing the centre’s e-communications and social media. You will also manage the Marketing Intern.

Casual Lighting/Stage Theatre Technician

South Hill Park is looking for enthusiastic theatre technicians to join its busy team.

£7.20 per hour.

Duties will include assisting with the technical operation of the Wilde Theatre and other performing spaces, including a Studio Theatre and outdoor spaces. This will include fit ups, get ins and get ours, setting up staging, lighting and sound equipment and operating equipment during performances/events. The candidate will also be required to assist with general housekeeping duties.

The selected person will need to have excellent organisational skills, communication skills and preferably primary knowledge of technical theatre. Experience working with ETC lighting desks is desirable, as is experience of using counterweight flying systems.

Hours vary depending on arts centre programming and scheduling. Requirements to work weekends and evenings.

Printmaking Artist in Residence

South Hill Park is now recruiting a second Artist in Residence to join the printmaking team in the Art Centre’s specialist printmaking studio.

Teaching paid at: £20.39 per hour.

As well as having access to a well equipped studio to develop their work, the appointed will teach classes for regular printmakers on Wednesdays and Thursdays 10am – 2:30pm and work alongside the printmaking team, managing the studio. South Hill Parks Residency’s have been running for over 30 years and are at the heart of South Hill Park’s visual arts programme. The visual arts department currently accommodates four artists in residence within it’s specialist printmaking, jewellery & silversmithing and ceramics studios.
