Interactive wall installation on the Grand Staircase
Darrell Kingsley has created a series of drawings inspired by specific architectural elements and spaces inside and outside South Hill Park. Kingsley used these drawings to create the illustration for the interactive wall.

James Armstrong gathered impulse responses (IRs) around notable locations in South Hill Park Arts Centre, the acoustic equivalent of taking a photograph. The captured IRs were used for the installation in the interactive wall. Armstrong wrote 12 short musical passages. These 12 pieces, when played back together, will be asynchronous but work musically. Visitors to the installation can trigger the passages at random to create their own, momentary composition that will be complimentary of the acoustics in the space.
James Armstrong is a mastering engineer, multi-instrumentalist and academic living and working in the Southeast of England. https://www.jamesedwardarmstrong.com
