Introduction to Book Binding

Ceramicist and Bookbinder Karen Marks will introduce the basic techniques of bookbinding, including how to check paper grain, the different components of a book and some basic stitches.
You will then choose from a selection of coloured card and thread and be guided through the stages to make and finish a simple book using the techniques you have learned.

Materials are provided but participants will be required to bring the following:
apron
sharp pencil
bulldog clips x 2
heavy books x 2 / 3
greaseproof paper
old unwanted magazine x 1 or 2
