Join us for this reprisal of a play written for Artemis in 2013 – which saw fan mail flutter in for the cast! Ghost Station features a high tech set with projection mapping to take you time travelling to war time London and back to the future again in a tale based on a true story!
Written for Artemis by Niki Robinson, and directed and edited for this 2026 revival by Keir Buist.
A small group of London teens break into a dead tube station – closed up since the late 40’s. The station is a dark time capsule, unchanged and boarded up with commuters passing through on trains unknowingly every day. The teens explore the dark passageways, filming as they go for a Blair Witch style video.
But things take a strange turn when they film the quiet platform – as they look through the view screens on their phones they can see children in school uniforms, dancing girls, soldiers, nurses and more! They are seeing echoes of past events – ghosts from a bygone age – back to the Second World War, when the bombs were falling and the local residents of Bethnal Green fled to the tube on a daily basis.
Over days of filming they realise the children and adults they are seeing are about to fall victim to a disaster – when dozens of people were killed in a dreadful accident on the platform. Can they find a way to reach into the past and speak to the people they can hear and see so clearly? Can they change history?
Featuring sing-a-long popular songs from the 40’s such as ‘Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy’ and ‘Chattanooga Choo Choo’. Presented by performing arts students from Artemis Studios, this is a roller coaster story with laughter, tears and some toe tapping songs
Starring Artemis Junior Theatre Company (8-14), Little Actors (4-7) guests from Medusa Teen Theatre Company (14-22), Artemis College (16-19), and Artemis Theatre Company our wonderful adult community company (21+). Auditions for older teen and adult roles (dancers and actors) are September 2025.
