She also delivers workshops and classes at Micklems Farm Maidenhead, Norden Farm Arts Centre also Maidenhead. She As well as working with individual one to one classes, groups and Art Society’s over Berkshire.
Caroline has produced a body of work in oils. The style is Abstract, where Caroline creates her own visual language. This series of paintings investigates the subject of physical energy, light, colour theory, shape and line. Its relationships, dialogues and compositions within a space, explored from the front to the back of the painting to create a narrative. There is often a feeling of classic landscape painting with a back, mid and a foreground to the work, creating a feeling of looking through.
The viewpoint varies, as sometimes we can be flying with an aerial view. In some of the works there is a feeling of a smaller still life scale, as if objects were placed on a table. She also considers the edges of a painting as being an important element.
There are many layers, painting on and taking away, revealing flashes of what lies underneath, cutting and scraping through is another area of investigation. Caroline says: ‘my visual language in this series is: Colour equals light, light equals space’.
