Children’s Beginner Guitar

Please note this is a 10 week course with a 1 week half term.

Children learn the fundamentals of music through playing simple, age appropriate, melodies and perhaps a few chords on the guitar in this group class.
a decent 3/4 sized nylon strung Classical/Spanish type guitar will be required, written material for practice will be provided.

6-8 YEARS. If parents/guardians are not staying in the session you will need to complete a registration form with emergency details in the first session.

Edward Jones BMUS – Kodály Musicianship and Guitar

Having left the local music service to pursue a career as a freelance music teacher; I have since focused upon developing my own methodology for running group instrumental classes. Lucky enough to have studied under from some of the best Kodály music teachers, I sought to build my methodology around the pedagogical practices which I learned. I attribute these practices to the fact that I have had pupils win local guitar competitions, join national ensembles and eventually enrol in conservatories including Trinity Laban and The Royal Academy… Meanwhile, I can usually be found carting my two young children around or mucking out guinea pigs.
