Introduction to Bookbinding

Ceramicist and Bookbinder Karen Marks will introduce the basic techniques of bookbinding, including how to check paper grain, the different components of a book and basic stitches.

You will then choose from a selection of coloured card and thread and be guided through the stages to make and finish a simple book using the techniques you have learned.

All basic tools and materials provided, please bring a notebook and pencil, an apron, a couple of large bulldog clips if you have them, an old unwanted magazine and two or three heavy books.
