Sculpting in Clay

Carole Thompson

Carole will help you create a range of decorative sculptures using a variety of techniques and finishes.

Carole Thompson is a qualified teacher with a BA in Art, and has many years teaching experience in colleges and schools. Her practice started in printmaking, and she was a previous artist in residence at South Hill Park. In her ceramics practice Carole enjoys the tactile feeling of clay between her fingers, and finds making bowls and sculptures gives her another medium to play with. Carole aims to have a happy relaxed atmosphere in the studio, in which participants can express their ideas into some ceramic form. Through her high standard of teaching, some students go on to study at university or buy kilns and take up their own ceramics practice.
