Grimm Tales

Think you know your fairy stories? Think again…

A colourful collection of enchanting tales from the Grimm Brothers is brought to life in this spellbinding
adaptation by poet laureate Carol Ann Duffy. From the family drama of Hansel and Gretel, to the touching tale of Cinderella, and other magical stories, this is the perfect summer treat for the family.
Adapted for the stage by Tim Supple, Grimm Tales was first produced at the Young Vic Theatre in 1994 to critical acclaim.

Grimm Tales’ Director Julian Hirst has been associated with South Hill Park since it opened in 1984. Previous productions as performer or director include: ‘Aladdin’, ‘Sleeping Beauty’, ‘Blackadder’ & ‘The Railway Children’. Recent projects include ‘Lucky Stiff’ at the Edinburgh Fringe and ‘My Fair Lady’ at the Hexagon.

South Hill Park’s reputation for summer family shows continues to grow with Grimm Tales as some of the most popular and memorable fairy tale characters are brought to life. Be enchanted by magic and storytelling in this spellbinding production.
