A Disappearing Act

Performed with crisp flair Lyn Gardener, The Guardian

Following its tour of Scotland, the US and Bulgaria in 2016, South Hill Park’s newest Associate Company, Single Shoe Productions, brings its latest production to the Wilde Theatre.

The great magician, Philip Winterbottom, cordially requests your presence for his final act. Sadly, he’s dead. So…he won’t be there. But, he’s left his son and assistant very clear instructions for his memorial. Join Philip’s family and friends for one final disappearing act…

Combining cheesy magic, exuberant music and audience participation, A Disappearing Act is a witty, inventive and sometimes awkward exploration of our mortality, the rituals we use to accept it and say goodbye to the ones we love.

A post-show discussion will be held on Thursday 14 September.

A Disappearing Act is supported by Arts Council England, British Council, Green House Seed Funding and the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation. To find out more about Arts Council England visit artscouncil.org.uk
