A Local Boy comes to Bracknell

February 09, 2016

A Local Boy, a thrilling and hilarious new play, is coming to South Hill Park, Bracknell this February.

I don’t know where he goes, who he hangs around with. I don’t even know if he wears high top trainers.

Produced in association with Pleasance Theatre, A Local Boy by Dan Murphy opens at Brighton Dome on Friday 26th February before touring to Bracknell, Doncaster, and London.

When the body of a local teenager is found next to the war memorial in Romford, a community is left
reeling.

A mother thinks of her son.

A girl wanders the streets alone.

And two teenagers discover love – in a chat box, that is.

A Local Boy

As the story pieces itself together, a question emerges: in a world of instant communication, how
connected are we in reality?

A LOCAL BOY is a provocative, gripping, and touchingly funny debut play by Dan Murphy about the
internet, relationships, and the anger that smoulders when we feel like we don’t belong.

Outside this chat window? Anything could happen.
